Don’t Buy vBulletin Skins From CompleteVB

My access to download was restored by Matt. I don’t know why it took so long to resolve this issue, but, I am glad it is over. I will continue to do business with them in the future. I have also terminated the dispute I had at Paypal.

It took a while and numerous PM’s and emails, but, in the end I got access to what I paid for and that makes me happy.

I have bought a few vbulletin skins from CompleteVB. CompleteVB has top quality designers. Unfortunately Matt the owner of CompleteVB doesn’t know how to conduct business in an honest way. I had been warned before I bought my first skin from them that CompleteVB was not to be trusted. I live by the rule once bitten, twice shy so I decided to go ahead and purchase from CompleteVB. I got what I paid for, cheap nice looking skins for my communities. Too bad all the skins still use many of the default vbulletin icons. Other than that they do look good once you correct the bugs in them.

Scribble Board is Born

I’m on a roll. I had an extra vbulletin license from a site I recently closed and decided to start a new community. Thus Scribble Board was born.

Scribble Board is a place to post your thoughts or ideas to share with others. No matter what the topic you’re welcome to post. It is easy to navigate and post if you’re in a hurry to get your thoughts out. No multiple forums to confuse you. You’ll never post in the wrong forum again. Introducing 2 New Communities

I just opened 2 new forum communities. I haven’t opened any new forums in a while and thought I’d add a couple new sites to the network.

The first community to join the network is Illinois Forum. It is a community for people that live in Illinois, people planning to move to Illinois or people that used to live in Illinois to communicate and share ideas. Even if you don’t live in Illinois you’re still welcome at Illinois Forum. We are a friendly bunch.

I just added Illinois Forum – Illinois Chat and Discussions to the network. Illinois Forum is a community for Illinois residents to to get together and talk about anything they like. The topics include sports, politics, entertainment and the arts. There is also a general discussion area and a chit chat area to get to know other Illinois residents.

Low Life Spammers

Dealing with low life spammers on a daily basis is no fun. If you have a community website or a blog you know that low life spammers make administration harder than it has to be. Sure Akismet and captcha help. They just aren’t effective enough to catch all the spam a low life spammer spews.

I have been tracking and logging spam bots for a while. I classify a bot as a spam bot if it doesn’t follow robots.txt. I just started to track users that use these bots and I log IP, username and email address. What I am going to do is list these users and their information. I will keep the list updated so you can reference it and block these low life spammers. Check back here often to keep up to date with new additions to the low life spammer list.
