Group Policy To Administer Ts User Access To Specific Nic
First post and i am already throwing questions! lol
its kind of very unorthodox question, however i am sure someone must have thought about this before.
i am using win 2008 sp2 ent, with a terminal server, stand alone. (No AD)
i use 2 NIC for to allow users to access our internal resources and external for internet.,
recent audit raised some very hard questions that i failed miserably!
i have been asked to segregate users, as in management level users will have internet and internal resrouces access..but the lower lvl staff can only access internal servers only.
ideal situtation would have been to setup another users and move profiles but no money for IT,
is there any way i can use group policy to effect users way of accessing on a specific network / NIC?
thanks for the help.

Windows 95 cannot open files on Windows 2008 file share
We have several Windows 95 computers that connect to a Windows 2003 DC. We have just implemented a Windows 2008 server (not a DC) as a file share server.
The Windows 95 clients can see the files in fileshare (They have Modify access), but can only open TXT files. All other files, Excel, Word, JPG, etc, cannot be opened. It gives an error that the file cannot be found or is read only when we attempt to open them. We are unable to copy these file types as well with the same error of "cannot find file".
The Windows 95 client can access another file share server (Windows 2003) and open all file types without a problem.
So I suspect there is some incompatibility or setting either on the client or the server that needs to be tweaked.

File access to sub folders
E:\share\john
E:\share\mike
E:\share\karl
john has access to read to "share" and read/write access to "john" folder and mike & karl has only read access to this folder (john)
mike has access to read to "share" and read/write access to "mike" folder and john & karl has only read access to this folder (mike)
karl has access to read to "share" and read/write access to "karl " folder and mike & john has only read access to this folder (karl).
I have like 50 employees all with roaming profiles which is stored in different folder " E:\profiles " and what I want to do is create a folder called as "Share" with file permission to share the data between the domain users. (Also "E:\share" is mapped through group policies so that they can read directly from My Computer)
I gave the sharing permission to "E:\share" as domain-user as Read then I unchecked in inherit option in security for the sub folder.(properties>security>advance>edit>uncheck inherit).
And then I gave full access to users.
It doesnot seems to work.
Is their anything that I am doing wrong..? (read more)
Command to modify Advanced Security Settings (Audit Settings for folders) on windows 2008
Hello All,
We have requirement to modify Advanced Security Settings (Audit Settings for folders) on windows 2008. I am looking for a command which does this job.
I know, using group policies I can do this; in fact I had done this using group policies. However, I need to do this on number of servers which are not in domain. There are around 15 folders on which I need to enable Auditing; manual editing folder advanced permissions is a cumbersome job. Hence, I am looking for a command line options.
I need to know how command can be utilised to enable Audit option on a folder. Please share a command which can do this; once I get the command, I will create a batch file for other necessary folders.
Manually through GUI, I am setting following.. snaps are uploaded
Thanks
